Dr. Scott Pleasant – Pasture Laminitis – Don’t let it happen to Your Horse

Dr. Scott Pleasant is the C.R. Roberts Professor of Clinical Veterinary Medicine in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM), Virginia Tech. Dr. Pleasant has been a faculty member at the VMCVM since 1991. He is board certified in surgery by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and currently serves as Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital’s (VTH’s) Equine Podiatry Service.
In 2005, Dr. Pleasant received the National Teaching Excellence Award – Clinical Sciences, from the American Veterinary Medical Association. In 2016, he was inducted into the International Equine Veterinarians Hall of Fame. He has authored or co – authored over 100 manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters. He has given more than 250 presentations to professional and lay groups. His clinical and research interests include equine podiatry, lameness, and nutrition.
Dr. Scott Pleasant will talk to us about laminitis, how to avoid ever facing that problem, and weight control.
