Born and raised in Southside Virginia on a tobacco and horse farm. We worked the tobacco fields during the day, worked horses in the evening and went to horse shows on weekends. We raised ,bred , sold and trained American saddle bred horses (60 of them) . I attended VA Tech in the College of Agriculture where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Science. I worked for Roanoke City Mills for 16.5 years until they sold their feed division to Southern States. I then worked for Southern States for 16 years until they sold their feed division to Cargill Animal Nutrition. I have worked for Cargill for 3 years now. I have been an FSTR for 35.5 years .
I married my wife of 40 years Debbie, when I graduated from VA Tech in 1980 and raised 2 beautiful horse crazy daughters. The oldest Leah, has given us 2 grandsons who are starting to show horses . My oldest daughter lives close to us and continues to work and show horses with us from home. My youngest daughter Ashleigh, trains American Saddle Bred horse in North Carolina.
We are a horse family and love to be with and work with our horses.
